Monogramming Tips
General Monogramming Rules:

An example of a tradtional monogram is shown above. A traditonal monogram has three letters with the middle initial formatted larger than the two outside letters.
Traditional monograms are printed in this order: first, LAST, middle name initials. The center initial should represent your last name. For example, the above monogram is for Madison Marie Burns.
For married couples using a traditional monogram, the first initial is the woman's first name, the last initial is the man's first name, the last name is the center initial.
For a married woman who has dropped her middle name and now carries her maiden name we suggest the following rule:
Examples: Michelle Leigh Bergeron {before marriage}
Monogram initials: mBl
Michelle Bergeron Young {after marriage}
Monogram initials: mYb

An example of a block monogram is shown above. A block monogram has three letters and they are all the same size. Both men and women can use a block monogram. Block monograms are traditionally used by men. The initials on this style monogram will appear in exact order - first name, middle name, last name.
General Engraving Rules:
When engraving a gift, the interlocking font is traditionally used for females and a block style font like Times Block is used for males. The round monogram can be used for both male and female.
